A drug dealer couple was arrested by government authorities while over P13 million worth of suspected shabu were seized in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Naga City on Thursday evening, January 19, 2023. The two suspects were identified as NELYNN M. TOBIAS, 40 years old, and ERNAN C. TOBIAS, 45 years old. According to a report from Police Regional Office 5, the couple was arrested by operatives of ODRDO RPDEU 5/Team Naga Camarines Sur (lead unit), SDEU of Milaor MPS, and San Fernando MPS; Camarines Sur PIU; CPDEU, NCPO; 501st RMFB 5; RID; RSOU 5; and PDEG at around 9:11 PM at Diversion Road, Zone 5, Brgy. Tabuco, Naga City.
PGen Azurin said the confiscated evidence were approximately 2,000 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PhP13,600,000.00, one .9mm pistol with one magazine loaded with four rounds of live ammunition, and one PhP500.00 bill buy-bust money. The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence are now under the custody of PS5, Naga CPO for documentation and proper disposition. Meanwhile, criminal charges for violating RA 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2002 is now being prepared to be filed against the couple. “I commend the tireless efforts of our Police Regional Office 5 officers under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Rudolph B Dimas, Regional Director, in this successful anti-illegal drug operation. The arrest of these drug dealers is a victory for our community and a step forward in our fight against illegal drugs.
